The CogniGuide SC is a SW platform which was developed for the needs of robot guidance in the tasks of laser surfacing. This platform was built on the CogniGuide robot guidance software adding a 3D Interface with a set of 3D modelling, segmentation, surface coverage planning and simulation methods.

The goal of the SW platform is to make the surfacing process and robot programming:

CogniGuide SC is a modular SW platform - Automatic Calibration module, Scanning module, Planning module, Simulation module, Execution module, Verification module etc.

 

Advantages and Innovations:

  • Automatic generation of the coverage trajectory for the robot's end effector based on the input 3D data
  • Significant reduction of inputs from the operator
  • Creation of a 3D model of the processed object based on a color 3D camera
  • Possibility to use an input 3D model of an object from other SW in the form of a STL or PLY file
  • The object is represented in CogniGuide SC in the form of a 3D surface including color
  • Possibility to communicate with master PLC
  • Inspection of laser processes (eg. the color-based verification of paint or rust removal)
  • Planning the trajectory of the robot equipped with the 2-axis positioner and the linear track including collision model-based simulation
